David Bowie may have left this earth on 11/01/2015 but the fact is for many of the new generation of music listeners his music is just staring to come alive.

On the 8 January 2016 David Bowie released his twenty-fifth and final studio album. That’s right I didn’t stutter… Yes folks 25 albums. That is a hell of a body of work!!.

Mr Bowie was a super skilled the list reads: Singer/Songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, arranger, record producer, painter and actor.

Over five decades in the game, considered by most critics and fans as an innovator, particularly in the 70’s with the glam rock era kicked in. It seemed that David Bowie was born for this age with his love of experimentation and flamboyance. Ziggy Stardust became his moniker slash alter ego; The release of his single “Starman” was the catalyst for his new entrance.

It’s widely reported that Ziggy endured a frustrating period during the 1960s although “Space Oddity” became his first top five entries in the UK Singles Chart.

1975 was the year that Bowie made his mark across the pond in America with the number one hit “Fame” which was featured on the album Young Americans. Unfortunately with gaining acclaim in the US came with folk from the UK questioning his radical shift and many felt a sense of alienation due to his new direction. You just cant please everybody these days or back then it seems.

Albums: ”Low”, ”Heroes” and ”Lodger” increased his legend as the 70’s were coming to an end.
1981 brought a monster collaboration of ”Under Pressure” with Queen, love that one.

1983 brought his biggest commercial hit with the iconic ”Let’s Dance”. Bowie was an activist at heart and took the opportunity to highlight the plight of black and brown people’s across the earth in this video.

During the 1990’s and 2000’s, Bowie continued to experiment with new forms of music by delving into a bit of Drum & bass (jungle back then).

David Bowie also had a passion for film appearing in the following: include the eponymous character in The Man Who Fell to Earth (1976), Major Celliers in Merry Christmas, Mr.Lawrence (1983), the Goblin King Jareth in Labyrinth (1986), Pontius Pilate in Martin Scorsese’s The Last Temptation of Christ (1988), and Nikola Tesla in The Prestige (2006), among others.

The man is the personification of creativity, no doubt about it. Thank you for being who you are at all times.
