Red Bull Studios London announce Raise The Bar B-Day-celebrations

This November, Red Bull Studios London, one of the most exciting and vital additions to the capital’s music scene, celebrates its 5th birthday – a landmark milestone that has seen it grown out of the legacy of Red Bull Music Academy to become a recording studio in its own right and an incubator of musical talent.

Never one to do things by halves, Red Bull Studios London will celebrate its fifth birthday in style with a week-long celebration of events for the public starting from Monday 9th November.

Despite its relative infancy, Red Bull Studios London’s legacy and impact on London’s music scene is palpable. At a time when record label resources are dwindling, the non-commercial studio has stepped in to support artists and help them realise their creative ambitions and projects.

Over the past five years the studio has acted as home to multiple Artists in Residence includingJulio Bashmore and Hudson Mohawke; it has been the birthplace for numerous chart-dominating albums, including Jessie Ware’s debut album Devotion and her 2015 follow upTough LoveDisclosure’s number 1 album Settle, Julio Bashmore’s Knockin’ Boots, Don Broco’s Automatic and Little Simz’ A Curious Tale Of Trials + Persons.

Since 2010, the global Red Bull Studios network has grown to twelve, with studios inAmsterdam, Auckland, Cape Town, Copenhagen, London, Los Angeles, Madrid, New York, Paris, Sao Paolo and Tokyo. The most recent addition opened in Berlin in October 2015.

TUESDAY 10TH NOVEMBER: RAISE THE BAR
Over the last five years, the studios has seen most of UK grime’s royalty pass through its doors: Kano, Wiley, BBK, Novelist, Fekky… the list goes on. Now Red Bull Studios is giving the public a turn to guest on a unique collaboration, created by renowned producer Zdot, who has recently worked with Stormzy, Lady Leshurr and Bugzy Malone. On 2nd November, Zdot will upload his instrumental to the Red Bull site for burgeoning MCs to script to.  From 4pm on 10th November, the vocal booth will be open for rising stars to come and prove themselves. Entries all get a 10 minute slot, which will be allocated on a first come first served basis. Zdot will then select his top 5 entries and produce a full track, to be released online by Red Bull Studios London.
WEDNESDAY 11TH NOVEMBER: LOCK IN
Whether it’s Two Bears with a choir, Kano with an orchestra, Sam Smith recording vocals for Disclosure or Wild Beasts filming amidst a fake jungle in the live room, Red Bull Studios has pretty much seen it all over the last five years. On Wednesday 11th, Red Bull Studios will be teaming up with The 405 to offer one lucky artist the chance to have a day in the state-of-the-art studio with an expert team around them. All entrants have to do is tweet @The405 with a link to their music and the #RedBullStudiosLockIn hashtag and it could be theirs for the day.THURSDAY 12TH NOVEMBER: MAKING MUSIC LOOK GOOD

Starting at 7pm on Thursday 12th, MNEKand Moross will have a whirlwind day to create a track from start to finish – to write, record and deliver content to go alongside it. The 24 hours will culminate in a panel discussion with guests including Kate Moross to discuss the creative process behind recording and releasing music.
